A tinyurl implementation in python
tinyurl.py
This is an implementation of the tinyurl-like sites in Python. The requirements are a web server (Apache). This provides back-end functionality. It will need a web page that takes your long url as an input so our program will spit back the shortened url.
The urls are stored in a dictionary and a .htacccess file. Here’s how they are used when the user requests a short url:
